Spring Wind

$1,000.00

Acrylic on Canvas. Ready to Hang.

31×41 ×2

Spring Wind is part of a series of paintings that I began in early 2025. I created this after Beginning to Bloom, using a similar color palette of blues and rosy pinks, while exploring negative space.

For me this painting is a breath of fresh air. It has a lot of space to breathe and express itself. These two paintings are a departure for me. I typically take up the entire canvas with an explosion of color, and with these I wanted to create a feeling of air.

Spring Wind’s inspiration comes from the beauty and freedom of spring after a Chicago winter. Need I say more? One more thing I forgot to mention. This year I fell in love with using black India ink on a fir branch to create loose, light brushstrokes that were free and uncontrolled. You’ll see these marks in Spring Wind.

Edges are the natural color of the canvas to keep it fresh.
